Gauteng Premier David Makhura together with the Members of the Executive Council (MECs) in the Economic Cluster and Mayors of Sedibeng and Emfuleni visited the Sedibeng manufacturing sector as part of the Ntirhisano Sectoral Outreach Programme. The visit is aimed at engaging industries in the manufacturing sector to revitalise the economy of the Southern corridor region and identify opportunities for partnerships for economic growth, skills development and job creation in Sedibeng. The delegation visited manufacturing industries in Sedibeng including Nampak and ArcelorMittal South Africa’s Vanderbijlpark Works, the country’s giant steel manufacturing industry. During this meeting André de Ruyter, the CEO of Nampak welcomed this engagement with government and outlined further growth opportunities aimed at rejuvenating the economy of the Vaal Triangle.
