The voice notes of the MEC for the Gauteng Department of Human Settlements, Lebogang Maile, circulating on social media are fake. 

There are no RDP houses or subsidy houses being given away by MEC Maile, where you must pay anything or give money for “cold drink.”

Anyone asking for “cold drink money” for an RDP house or land must be reported to the Gauteng Hotline on 0860 428 8364 and email: EthicsDHS@gauteng.gov.za
