Cullinan Road rehabilitation project must be completed on time, on budget: MEC Mamabolo

Gauteng MEC for Public Transport and Roads Infrastructure, Jacob Mamabolo today launched the (D713) Cullinan Road rehabilitation project in Cullinan, City of Tshwane.

The MEC, once again, reiterated the importance of completing the project on time, cost effectively and at the right quality as agreed in the project contract agreement.

"The Transport Infrastructure Compliance Office will be closely monitoring progress to ensure both the engineering team and the contractor stick to the agreement they have entered into with us. This office will help the Department protect public funds by ensuring the delivery process of the project is as per the agreed standards and time frames”.

"It will also help us rationalise contract management, administration as well the compliance of parties to Service Level Agreements. The set completion date will not be changed. All our projects should be completed on time,” said the MEC.

The MEC added that the site construction reporting tool, introduced by the Department, will be used to monitor and report daily activities on site. This will allow for timely intervention whenever delays are registered.

At a cost of R90 million, the rehabilitation works are carried out as part of the Gauteng Provincial Government’s Ntirhisano Service Delivery Outreach Programme aimed at resolving service delivery challenges in the province.
