As we enter the festive period, a season characterised by high traffic volumes due to motorists traveling to various destinations, Gauteng Public Transport and Road Infrastructure MEC Jacob Mamabolo has called on travellers to observe road rules, adhere to COVID-19 protocols and to vaccinate. 

MEC said this during his Smart Mobility programme where he led a Departmental road maintenance team attending to potholes along the Golden Highway (R558) in Soweto this morning.

This follows the MEC’s reassurance to motorists that the Department’s emergency road maintenance teams are on the ground and moving with speed attending to various damages inflicted onto the infrastructure.
