Since the previous Economic Update, the full economic impact of the COVID-19 lockdowns has become prominent. Across the world, economies contracted significantly in the second quarter, except for China which had moderate economic growth. The current estimate for the global economy suggests a contraction of 4.9 per cent in 20201.
