THE MEMBER OF THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL (MEC) FOR THE GAUTENG DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, MS. NOMANTU NKOMO-RALEHOKO, INVITES NOMINATIONS FOR COMMUNITY REPRESENTATIVES TO SERVE ON HOSPITAL BOARDS ACROSS GAUTENG FOR A THREE-YEAR TERM, STARTING IN APRIL 2025 AND ENDING IN MARCH 2028.
NOMINEES ARE INVITED TO APPLY TO SERVE ON THE BOARDS OF THE HOSPITALS LISTED BELOW:
Central Hospitals (9 board members for each hospital):
Charlotte Maxeke, Chris Hani Baragwanath, Dr George
Mukhari, and Steve Biko.
Tertiary Hospitals (7 board members for each hospital):
Helen Joseph, Kalafong, and Tembisa.
Regional Hospitals (7 board members for each
hospital): Edenvale, Far East Rand, Leratong, Mamelodi,
Pholosong, Rahima Moosa Mother & Child, Sebokeng,
Tambo Memorial, and Thelle Mogoerane.
District Hospitals (6 board members for each hospital):
Bertha Gxowa, Bheki Mlangeni, Bronkhorstspruit, Carletonville,
Dr. Yusuf Dadoo, Heidelberg, Jubilee, Kopanong, ODI, Pretoria
West, South Rand, and Tshwane District.
Specialised Hospitals (6-7 board members for each hospital):
Carletonville, Cullinan, Sizwe Tropical, Tara - The H. Moross,
Tshwane Rehabilitation Centre, Sterkfontein, and Weskoppies.
REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for appointment, a nominee must meet one or more of the following criteria: Professionals
with expertise in Legal, Finance, Strategic Management, Information Management, Human Resources, Governance, Medicine,
and/or health-related backgrounds. Be a member of the community served by the respective hospital, with a proven record of
community development and involvement.
ROLE OF HOSPITAL BOARDS: Hospital boards serve as a resource to the hospital management on various organisational
matters, including, but not limited to, the professional expertise listed above. Furthermore, the boards will respond to the
needs of the community in which the hospital is located, so candidates must demonstrate community involvement.
APPLICATION PROCESS: Interested individuals must submit the following documents: A comprehensive Curriculum
Vitae, Copies of qualifications and ID, Written consent from the nominee to serve on the Hospital Board, and a brief Motivation
letter, indicating the hospital at which the nominee wishes to serve. Failure to comply with these instructions will disqualify
nominations. Nominees must reside within the catchment area of the hospital for which they are applying.
PLEASE NOTE: Hospital Boards are non-executive, advisory bodies. This is not an employment opportunity, but members will
receive an honorarium for performing board-related functions.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Nominations must be submitted by close of business on 14 February 2025.
