The Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital (CHBAH) will tomorrow, Friday, 07 October 2022 do a sod-turning ceremony to renovate one of the buildings in the facility which will be converted into a psychiatric ward.
The renovation project is part of a collaboration between Islamic Relief South Africa and the Gauteng Department of Health (GDoH). The renovations will see a state-of-the-art psychiatric ward which will have additional accommodation for psychiatric patients.
The new psychiatric ward will ensure that the CHBAH improves and continues to provide effective and efficient mental health services, as well as address the high demand for mental health services.
