The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport advises
motorists to be cautious when approaching K50 Road (Garsfontein Road) as
reconstruction and upgrading is currently underway.
Upgrades will include increasing its carrying capacity by
turning it into a dual carriageway between Loristo and Anton Van Wouw Streets. 
Fast facts about the K50 road upgrade:
Project commenced on 28 November 2024. 
Site handed over on 21 January 2025.

Motorists to note that there will be no
alternative routes during construction, as traffic will be moved to the
completed section (including contra-flow) while the existing road is being
completed.
