Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation 2024/11/24 - 22:00

The 16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM AGAINST GENDER- BASED VIOLENCE 2024 campaign was launched by the Gauteng Provincial Government on 25 November 2024 at the Union Buildings. This campaign is about preventing and ending violence against women and children.

In as much as violence against anyone and especially women and children who are vulnerable should be treated with the contempt that it deserves, every day, these 16 days are meant to jolt us all into proactive action. We all need to be activists.

What is an activist you ask? An activist is someone who campaigns for change. And change is exactly what we need to end the scourge of violence against women and children.

All of us can make a small change in our own way, in any aspect of our lives. Please share with us your acts of activism in bringing about an end to this menace to society:

  1. what you have been doing?
  2. what you will be doing?

We will compile all these and share to show that we are a Department of activists and as a collective we are committed to ending violence against women and children.
