Gauteng parents and guardians have up until Friday midnight to submit their online applications for the 2022 academic.
Phase 2 applications are for parents and guardians with children going to Grade 1 or Grade 8 in the 2022 academic year but are currently not in a public school in Gauteng.
Parents who were not able to apply on time during Phase 1 can also apply.
Applications for the 2020 online application period opened at 08:00 on 13 September and will close on Friday, 8 October 2021. 
Over 73 000 successful applications were recorded on the first day of the second phase.

"We urge parents and guardians to upload these documents onto the system or submit them at the school(s) they applied to within seven days of applying.
"It is also important that parents enter the correct details onto the system when applying," said spokesperson Steve Mabona.
GDE is available for assistance during on all the department's social media platforms, the decentralised walk-in centres and call centre on 0800 000.
Placements will take place between 15th October and November 30th.​
