Cabinet has approved the national strategic framework on Disability Rights Awareness Campaign.
Minister in Presidency, Mondli Gungubele says the framework will guide the private and public sectors in ensuring that the rights of persons with disabilities are protected as incorporated in the Constitution.
The framework provides a toolkit that will assist in the removal of discriminatory barriers in decision-making especially those related to persons with disabilities. It conscientizes persons with disabilities to know their rights.
The framework also provides training, media reporting and awareness-raising with society on the rights of persons with disabilities
He added that it gives an effect to the White Paper on the Rights of Persons with Disability.
