In a bid to spread awareness on COVID-19 and to emphasise the regulations on adjusted Alert Level 4, Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital's Infection Prevention and Control Unit (IPC) conducted health education at the local taxi rank outside the hospital.
The IPC unit urged taxi drivers and hawkers to continue playing their role in protecting themselves, their passengers and customers.
During the engagementSister Pearl Khumalo demonstrated to the members of the community the proper manner of wearing a mask, washing of hands and sanitising and emphasised the importance of maintaining social distance.
"COVID-19 affects everyone. It is not only the responsibility of the Department of Health. I appeal to each member of the public to be responsible for their health and protect all those around them, so we can beat the COVID-19 pandemic", said Sister Khumalo.
