On Tuesday, 09 May 2023, MEC Kedibone Diale-Tlabela undertook a working tour to the Western Cape for an Intergovernmental Workshop with Western Cape MEC for Mobility Ricardo Mackenzie.
She was joined by Head of Department Dr Thulani Mdadane and other senior officials. The meeting was aimed at improving working relations, integrating support and coordination between the two Departments.
The delegation also visited the Golden Arrow Bus Service centre for purposes of benchmarking as the Province of Western Cape moves towards the adoption of renewable transport solutions. With a fleet compliment of over 1000 buses, the bus operating entity has recently piloted the use and operation of electric vehicles in efforts to reduce carbon emissions.
"This bilateral marks a key intergovernmental milestone between the Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport and the Western Cape Mobility Department." said MEC Diale-Tlabela.
This formed part of efforts to improve cooperation between Gauteng and the Western Cape governments.
