 In an effort to improve the management of COVID-19 patients, as well as supporting proper infection control practice, the Pretoria West District Hospital received a donation of a new mobile digital X-ray machine recently.

The donation which was made possible by COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund responsible for supporting the work of the World Health Organization in containing the COVID-19 pandemic, will assist the hospital in increasing workflow efficiency and improve the number of patients that can be seen daily at the hospital.

"As management of the hospital, we are grateful for this donation. This machine will go a long way in making visits easier on injured or very ill patients as it is mobile." 

"I will also allow doctors to visit patients off site in cases where patients are in conditions that would prevent or hinder them from traveling to a facility," said the hospital CEO Dr Mpho Mosoane
