President Cyril Ramaphosa called on South Africans to do the Jerusalema dance challenge this Heritage Day.
Ramaphosa said there could be no better celebration of South African-ness than joining the global phenomenon that is the Jerusalema dance challenge.
"So, I urge all of you to take up this challenge on Heritage Day and show the world what we are capable of," said Ramaphosa.
He further urged South Africans to use Heritage Day as family time, to reflect on the difficult journey they have all travelled, to remember those who have lost their lives, and to quietly rejoice in the remarkable and diverse heritage of the nation.
The challenge has been accepted globally by people including the ministers and co-workers, they are sharing videos of themselves on social media dancing to #jerusalema, song by a South African DJ, Master KG and Nomcebo that has been trending on YouTube recently keeping people entertained during lockdown.
Jerusalema has taken the world by storm and has over 139 039 790 views on YouTube.
In addition, many social media users say they want to see President Ramaphosa and his cabinet ministers leading the dance challenge then they will follow.
