On 2 December 2024, the Gauteng Department of e-Government warmly welcomed 35 Netcampus ICT graduates to its team, marking a significant milestone in its partnership with Netcampus. The program aims to equip young professionals with critical ICT skills and work-based exposure, aligning with the department's Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) strategy to drive innovation and technological growth in Gauteng.
The Deputy Director-General of Corporate Services, Ms. Phelokazi Ntanjana, delivered a keynote address, emphasizing the department's role in enhancing ICT capabilities and fostering innovation for the benefit of the province. She highlighted the importance of collaboration in addressing the digital skills gap and empowering the youth to thrive in an increasingly digitalized environment.
Chief Director of Business Alignment, Mr. Devante Maphari, echoed this sentiment by encouraging the graduates to adopt a positive mindset. He stressed the need for passion and innovation, saying, "e-Government is a young and vibrant department that thrives on creativity. Your attitude and enthusiasm will set you apart in this rapidly evolving field. Don't just rely on your qualifications; let your passion and innovative spirit shine."
One of the trainees, Mr. Henry Mhlanga, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, saying, "I am truly grateful for this program. It's a stepping stone for us to gain relevant skills, which will be invaluable in securing future employment opportunities. I look forward to learning and contributing meaningfully during my time here."
