Edna Dibble, 89, is one of 121 residents of Renaissance Retirement Home in Glenvista who received the second and final dose of Pfizer vaccine recently.

Dibble said she felt lazy and tired after the first shot and did not want to sit for the second one, which was scheduled after two weeks. But her daughter, who is a nurse, advised her to have the second dose to get the maximum protection," she said.

"With the first jab my arm was sore for three days and I didn't get any other side effects. When I had my second jab, I felt a bit tired that evening. The next morning, I experienced a bit of brain fog and felt some body pains most of the day. I took Tylenol and was fine the next day," said Dibble.

Meanwhile, Linda Lawson, 54, the sergeant officer at Moffatview police station said after getting her vaccination, she felt like the beginning of the end of this horrible pandemic.

"I just felt a sense of relief, and I felt honored, this is the beginning of the end of this horrible pandemic. I'm so proud to be able to contribute and be part of it the people that are making sure that we reach herd immunity as the country," said Lawson.

"I had the Pfizer vaccine and only experienced a sore arm with both shots. I may have been a little tired the next day from the first dose but I was not sure if it was from the vaccine or just me being tired from not getting enough sleep the night before," she said.

She urged all eligible persons to visit their nearest vaccination site to get vaccinated and advised that all Gauteng vaccination sites accepts walk ins.
