Pholosong Hospital ended the Men's Health Month by hosting a workshop addressing health matters affecting male employees.
The annual initiative, organised by the Employee Health and Wellness Programme is aimed at promoting both physical and mental health.
Under the theme: "Total Wellness, Relationships and Men Who Protect", the speakers encouraged men to put their wellness first and to go for regular health screenings so that illnesses, such as hypertension, heart disease or prostate cancer, can be detected and managed early.
Hospital Acting CEO, Dr Nthabiseng Makgana supported the initiative and said education was important in decreasing the burden of disease.
"We encourage all employees with a focus on males in the month of June to engage in physical activity, to eat healthy and to take care of their mental health and to lead important conversations that impact on society, families and relationships," she concluded.
