The Gauteng MEC for Health, Nomathemba Mokgethi has committed to filling all critical positions in the department by the end of March 2022.
Mokgethi was responding to a legislature enquiry on vacant positions in the department on Wednesday.
The department said the process to fill other senior management positions is ongoing.
These include the appointment of the chief director for finance and directors for supply chain, finance, human resource, nursing, administration, information management and technology, and health care waste management.
Mokgethi said she was pleased with the progress made thus far.
"As the 6th Administration, we are committed to filling all the strategic vacant positions in order to bring stability in the Department."
Furthermore, the recruitment and selection process to appoint the Head of Department is underway.
The HOD position has been vacant since the former head resigned in 2020.
The recruitment process to appoint the Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Director General for Corporate Services has been completed.
During the State of the province Address, Gauteng Premier David Makhura said, out of the 37 hospitals in the province, 33 have permanent CEOs.
The process to fill the vacant positions at Jubilee, Bertha Gxowa, Carletonville and Yusuf Dadoo hospitals is underway with two of these already at a final stage of appointment.
