Tumishang Mokgatle, who was kidnapped in Atteridgeville on Tuesday morning, has been found safe and unharmed.
Mokgatle was kidnapped at her home by two men who identified themselves as police officers from the tracing unit. 
They told Mokgatle that they were investigating her car as it was allegedly linked to hijackings. The men informed Mokgatle they needed to take her to Hartbeespoort police station for verification. 
According to her brother, Dineo Mokgatle, he received a call from Tumi a while later, saying she was with men.
The tracker company was alerted and later recovered her car abandoned in Hartebeespoort Dam.
While her brother was on the scene where her car was abandoned, he received a call demanding ransom. 
The South African Police Service (SAPS) acted swiftly and Mokgatle was found safe and unharmed in the Klipgat area around 01h00 this morning. 
A 27-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene and is believed to have been guarding the victim whilst she was kept in captivity. The police are still looking for the other two suspects. 
Premier David Makhura has welcomed the arrest and action taken by the police,
"We are concerned that there is a marked increase in kidnappings for ransom cases in the province. Perpetrators of these acts must know that they will be brought to book. We will not rest until Gauteng is a crime-free province. Criminals have no place to hide," said Premier Makhura.
Premier Makhura said the province will continue prioritising cases of human trafficking, kidnappings, as well as crimes committed against women, children, and other vulnerable groups.
