New MEC Meets & Greets the Executive Senior Management Team

The newly appointed MEC of the Gauteng Department of e-Government, Mr. Bonginkosi Dhlamini, was introduced to his Executive Senior Management Team (ESMT) yesterday. This session marked the beginning of a collaborative journey aimed at advancing the department's mission to drive digital transformation and governance within the province. 

The session opened with a warm welcome from the Head of Department (HOD), Mr. Castro Mosina, who provided a comprehensive review of the department's current projects and initiatives. His presentation highlighted the strides made in enhancing digital services and the strategic direction aimed at improving efficiency and service delivery to the citizens of Gauteng. 

Following the HOD's review, the Acting Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Ms. Sempotseng Modisha, delivered a financial overview. This report detailed the financial health of the department, budget allocations, and expenditures, ensuring that Mr. Dhlamini is well-informed about the fiscal strategies supporting the department's operations and projects. 

Ms. Phelokazi Ntanjana, the Deputy Director General (DDG) of Corporate Services, provided an overview of human resources and staffing within the department. Her presentation focused on current staffing levels, recruitment efforts, and the strategic human resource initiatives in place to support the department’s goals. Ms. Ntanjana highlighted ongoing professional development programs, staff welfare initiatives, and measures to enhance employee engagement and retention. 

Next, the Chief Director of Strategy Management reported on the governance and compliance status of the department. The presentation underscored the department's commitment to upholding the highest standards of governance, transparency, and accountability. Key compliance measures and ongoing governance initiatives were discussed to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with provincial and national regulations. 

The Acting DDG of ICT, Mr. Linda Canca responsible for ICT and Digital Transformation, concluded the session with an insightful report on the department's ICT initiatives. This report highlighted the progress and future plans for digital transformation projects aimed at enhancing public services through technology. 

MEC Dhlamini then gave closing remarks expressing his gratitude for the detailed presentations and reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the ESMT to achieve the department's goals. He emphasized the importance of teamwork and a shared vision in driving the digital agenda forward.
