Grateful for the chance to get COVID-19 vaccine, a grandmother of six, Florence Shabangu (66) encourages others to make use of this life saving opportunity and vaccinate.

"I am responsible for my grandchildren as their parents are unemployed, so I am the one who puts food on the table, clothes and ensure that they go to school hence I jumped when the call was made for people 60 years and older to vaccinate," said Shabangu after taking her second shot of Pfizer vaccine at Jabulani Mall.

"I am now protected but will continue practising non-pharmaceutical measures to keep COVID-19 at bay."

"Death is inevitable, however, let us not go down without a fight.  Especially us, the elderly, who are susceptible to passing away from COVID-19.  Let's protect ourselves and our loved ones and get vaccinated,'' implored Shabangu.

Shabangu was vaccinated in one of Gauteng's Mobile Vaccination Sites aimed at reaching residents closer to their homes and increasing the number of those who receive the vaccine.
