Premier David Makhura will on Wednesday handover waste management trucks and completion certificates for 21 newly constructed roads in the Emfuleni Local Municipality.
The fleet of 30 waste management trucks includes three front end loaders, three tractor-loader-backhoes (TLBs), six hook lift trucks, nine compactor trucks and tipper trucks.
"The new fleet will augment the existing set in the municipality and upscale the waste management processes to ensure efficient service delivery of household collection, street sweeping, promotion of recycling through transfer stations, infrastructure development, and rehabilitation of parks," spokesperson Vuyo Mhaga said.
The Premier will be joined by MEC for Economic Development, Parks Tau and Roads and Transport MEC Jacob Mamabolo.
Thereafter, Makhura will officially hand over completion certificates for 21 newly constructed roads.
These include the Sebokeng and Evaton, Vereeniging, Three Rivers, Sharpeville, Vanderbijlpark and Bophelong.
Mhanga said the service delivery projects form part of the provincial government's efforts to ensure that efficient services are provided to the residents of the Emfuleni Local Municipality.
