MEC for Roads and Transport Jacob Mamabolo, in partnership with the Gauteng National Taxi Alliance (GNTA) and South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO- Gauteng) will host a two-day provincial taxi summit in the Sedibeng District Municipality. 
Held under the theme "Growing Gauteng through the Modernisation of the Taxi Industry", the summit will - amongst other discussions - reflect, review and track the implementation of the resolutions that have been adopted at the previous summits.
Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula and Premier David Makhura are amongst keynote speakers expected to address delegates at the summit.
Upon assuming office, MEC Jacob Mamabolo has had a series of discussions with the taxi industry in an attempt to resolve operational challenges relating to legislation, monitoring and enforcement. 
Summit delegates are expected to critically assess progress in the implementation of resolutions and chart a way forward.
