All eyes will be on Gauteng Premier, David Makhura on Tuesday, 25 February 2020 as he delivers his second State of the Province Address under the 6 administration at the Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University in Ga-Rankuwa, Tshwane.
Premier Makhura is expected to shed light on the provincial government's plans on job creation, crime prevention and improve healthcare services.
The Premier will also give a detailed account of the achievements made by the provincial government over the past year.
Speaking to Gauteng Online, resident Kgotso Maja said: "I would like for the Premier, to tell us what the province is doing to develop youth in townships order. I believe this will give us a clear picture on how young professionals will be integrated in the vision of building a united Gauteng."
Meanwhile Makera Maile called on the provincial government to develop a systematic approach towards handling the scourge of Gender-Based Violence.
"One of the things that I am looking forward to hearing from Premier David Makhura's State of the Province Address, is the provincial government's stance on Gender Based Violence. Each and everyday when we wake up, there are always newspaper headlines about a woman who has been killed," stressed Maile.
However, Mordecai Ndlovu called on the strengthening safety measures in public schools: "recently the number of teacher and learner violence has reached alarming rates, we therefore appeal to the Premier to look into this crisis and come up with a program that can address it."
