As part of continuing celebration of the Public Service Month in the country, this morning, a team of senior managers led by the Head of Department Professor Mkhululi Lukhele visited some health facilities in Ekurhuleni South.

Under the theme: "Khawuleza, Taking Public Service to the People- the team begun their visit at Ramokonopi Community Health Care Center followed by Katlehong North clinic to assess performance and to commend staff for the work they are doing in providing healthcare services to the community.

In expatiating on the visits, Professor Lukhele said it is important for all public servants to take their job as a true calling to serve the country, make selfless contribution and upheld the Batho Pele principles and today's visit is precisely aiming at reigniting the spirit.

"We ought to keep reminding ourselves that the public service delivery improvement is requiring the commitment not only of the MEC and senior managers but also of all public servants to strive towards at all times. I must say that with the caliber and the passion shown by the health workers in this region - I am optimistic that our health system is in the good hands", articulated Professor Lukhele.

"The positive vibe and the willingness of the health workers in this region to go extra mile in serving the communities reminded me of the words of one of the world renowned Jacob Lew who once said there is no higher calling in terms of career than public service, which is a chance to make a difference in people's lives and improve the world." added Lukhele.
