Media Advisory - Sixteen mobile clinics to strengthen healthcare access across Gauteng Province 20 February 2025.pdf

​Three days ahead of the delivery of the Gauteng State of the Province Address, the MEC for Health and Wellness, Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko, will on Friday, 21 February 2025, officially distribute sixteen mobile clinics to the five health districts in the province, further enhancing the reach of healthcare services in underserved communities.

These Volkswagen Crafter mobile clinics, generously donated by the DG Murray Trust, were previously used by the KeReady team to promote COVID-19 vaccination and extend healthcare services to various communities. Their continued deployment will play a pivotal role in ensuring equitable access to primary healthcare services across Gauteng.

The mobile clinics will now be allocated to Johannesburg, Tshwane, Ekurhuleni, Sedibeng, and West Rand district health services, where they will be instrumental in strengthening the department’s Township, Informal Settlements, and Hostels (TISH) programme. They will provide essential health services, including TB, STI, and Diabetes screening, pregnancy testing, child immunisation, deworming, and HIV testing, among others.

This initiative underscores the 7th Administration’s commitment to bringing services to the doorstep of communities, ensuring that no one is left behind in accessing quality healthcare services.
