Gauteng MEC for Transport and Logistics has published a Notice
(Govt Gazette), in terms of Section 91(2) of the National Land Transport Act, where
extraordinary measures are to apply. 
These areas are characterised by violence, unrest or
instability and the measures are intended to normalize the situation. 
The said Regulation (measures) to be implemented will be in
force and effect from 14 April until 15 June 2024 and during this period, no
person shall be allowed to undertake passenger road transport services in the
affected areas.
The MEC is duty-bound to take these measures to safeguard
lives and property of residents in affected areas.
